Michigan State Police K-9 Thor ingested suspected poison while assisting Lapeer County sheriff's deputies during a breaking-and-entering search last week.
Thor received emergency treatment and was transferred to Michigan State University Veterinary Clinic, where he is recovering.
This marks Thor’s second hazardous exposure; he was exposed to illicit drugs during a Flint search in December.

FLINT, MI – Thor, the Michigan State Police K-9, is now recovering at home with his handler after ingesting suspected poison while working in Lapeer County.
The police dog and his partner assisted Lapeer County sheriff’s deputies on May 30 with a breaking and entering call.
While searching a barn, Thor was suspected of ingesting poison.
The K-9 was rushed to an emergency vet for medical treatment, then taken to the Michigan State University Veterinary Clinic.
While at the clinic, the Michigan State Police Third District posted on X that, “We are happy to report that Thor is doing well! He’s receiving wonderful care from the staff at MSU Veterinary Clinic.”
Thor was exposed to illicit drugs last December while searching a home in Flint.
